Warehouse Supervisor in Hemel Hempstead
Newstaff Recruitment Agency is recruiting for a Warehouse Supervisor on behalf of a company based in Hemel Hempstead.
Pay Rate: £14.00-£28.00 per hour + accrued holiday pay
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am – 6 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support a team of five staff in the despatch department.
- Allocate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of work.
- Provide guidance, training, and motivation to team members to optimise performance.
- Monitor team performance and address any issues or concerns in a constructive manner.
- Oversee the daily operations of the despatch area, ensuring all orders are processed and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Manage inventory in coordination with other departments, ensuring stock is ready for despatch.
- Coordinate with couriers and logistics providers to arrange deliveries.
- Address and resolve any issues related to stock discrepancies, damaged goods, or delays.
- Ensure the team adheres to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or incidents to management.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Keep accurate records of stock movement, deliveries, and team activities.
- Prepare reports on operational performance and submit them to senior management as required.
- Use warehouse management systems to track inventory and dispatch activity.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a team leader or supervisor in a warehouse or dispatch environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with despatch processes and inventory management systems.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure efficient operations.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, for liaising with team members and other departments.
- Comfortable using warehouse management software and Microsoft Office tools.
- Adaptable to the demands of a busy warehouse environment.
